WHO warns of the explosion-like spread of Zika Virus.

Up to 4 million people could be infected. Twenty countries in Central and South America are now affected. Six countries in Europe are already reporting suspected cases.

For the first time the pathogen in 1947, it has been demonstrated in a rhesus monkey in the Zika Forest, Uganda. Transfer is the causative agent, a Flavivirus (Relative of Dengue, West Nile and yellow fever Virus), the blood-sucking mosquitoes, such as the Gelbfieber mosquito Aedes aegypti and the Asian tiger mosquito, Aedes albopictus.

Dangerous this Virus is, above all things, for infected Pregnant women. The infection can cause the embryos brain and Skull malformations. This self-limiting (without external influences ending) viral disease, which comes from the tropics and subtropics, is abducted by the tourism in the world. The world climate warming is a further cause of this pandemic.
