Trainee programs close to
BY SVENJA HORN
The Asklepios clinics offer freshly-baked graduates, Trainee programs for professional entry into the hospital management level. There are two interesting possibilities: a Trainee-program in nursing management, and a Management program in hospital management with commercial focus. Our new Management Trainee in the management of the clinic Leona Campina. The 28-Year-old trained as a Pharmaceutical technical assistant and has worked for several years in the pharmacy, and a health insurance company. Alongside his work, Leona has health and social Economics and business studies, before joining as a Management Trainee to us in the Asklepios clinic in Altona.
Leona sniffed in the first few weeks in all departments of the hospital, including in the areas of nursing service. She has met all of the tract of the patient by our clinic about the shooting in the Central emergency room, the ICU, the operating room, the normal stops up to and including dismissal. Of course, you spent some time in the nursing Directorate, to the higher-level processes.
I have spoken with her about your care service and would like to gladly share their experiences and insights into the work area of nursing. Since Leona does not come from the nurses, and a nurse brings knowledge of subject, your angle of view a very different and, therefore, changes in some other way interesting.
Svenja: You’re a Trainee, to the hospital management. What can we imagine?
Leona: As a Trainee, the hospital management is all about, the structures of the hospital getting to know and understand. It offers, in as many areas as possible to get a taste of the everyday life there to experience. In the next step, you will be involved in different projects, and takes the first own projects. The goal is to be as good as possible prepared, in connection to the Trainee-program at the management level, for example as a clinic Manager, are used. The healthcare industry is constantly changing, and I find it very exciting, the changes that result from this and which are implemented by the hospital management, to play overseas.
Svenja: Well did You the the area of care under the magnifying glass taken. What do You have for a picture of the health – and sick care?
Leona: Well, Yes, the caring professions in General have a bad Image, because you with physically strenuous, demanding work for relatively low pay. Two weeks ago I had the privilege of watching me in the area of health and nursing. I was deployed at two stations, a doctors and a Privita comfort station. There insured patients and cash patients, you want to provide extra benefits in services and facilities private co-payments during your stay in the Clinic are private. The nursing activities are no different! Only the character of the Privita comfort station corresponds to a bit the of a hotel. Here is service professionals who support the nursing staff work in addition. They are used as a point of contact for the fulfilment of individual wishes of the patients.
Svenja: How did You work in the health care and nursing perceived?
Leona: You work closely with people, and is instrumental in the recovery of the patients involved. Because the system is tailored to each patient you care for, in a relationship, it is nice to see how this health is making progress. As a nurse, you can be independent and still be in the Team. Administrative activities belong to the everyday tasks, since the care must be carefully documented. This makes the job very versatile. I think the profession of health and Nursing is often underestimated. It belongs far more to this, as Washing and Feeding patients! The tasks are versatile and also at the social level, the work is demanding. I have great respect for the health – and sick care. Everyone who was already in the hospital, knows how helpless you can feel in a Situation like this. And how valuable it is to have people with competence and compassion on his side, support.
Svenja: What do You think are the biggest challenges in the health – and sick care?
Leona: Working in ever-changing layers is certainly one of the major challenges. A day in the morning service from 6 o’clock in the morning, the next late in the service to 22 hours or in night service. This is not without! Besides, you should have no fear of contact. Because the Washing and dressing of the patient or Accompany them to the Restroom is as much a part of the daily work such as the preparation of the Visit, the wounds or the documentation of the care.
Svenja: What will the next few years on the field of care in the hospital?
Leona: The poor Image of the care industry ensures a lack of Junior staff in this occupational group. If we look at the demographic development, it is clear that the number of people in need of care will rise. Therefore it must be ensured that the working in care is attractive. What is being done here deserves more recognition and attention.
Svenja: Why would You young people recommend, the profession of health and the nurse to take?
Leona: at the present time, we aim to people, but all more or less according to the moral fulfilment. We hope that our professional activity has a purpose. What kind of activity we consider to be useful, is individually very different. Therefore, everyone should define for themselves what –and which profession – gives your life meaning. The occupational health and nurse, gives our society a social and caring face. And that is what we need. I myself have decided for the Management, since my interest is rather in the transformation of the health system. I want to contribute to the improvement and is close to the decision-makers. Maybe I can work later in the business line. The Executive Directorate and the hospital management should go Hand in Hand to act with the care, management, and work together to be better.
